Robert earned his undergraduate degree from Haverford College and an MBA from Columbia University.
He and his wife, Hariett, married in 1989, have two grown children. Their son is an engineering professor at UNC Charlotte, and their daughter works as a data analyst with a consulting firm in Washington, DC.
